Why it is worth fixing rather than replacing
The parts that actually fail on gas appliances — jets, nozzles, ignition electrodes, thermocouples, knob spindles, gaskets, regulators — are inexpensive and individually replaceable. The appliance body, which is the expensive part, almost never fails. Every visit includes a safety check
Whatever the booked job, the visit finishes with a soap-solution leak test across the joints, valves and hose, plus a flame check on every burner. Gas work that skips this step is not finished work. If something outside the booked job needs attention, you are told about it and given the cost — not charged for it unannounced.

What is the difference between gas stove cleaning and gas stove repair?
Cleaning and servicing is planned work on a stove that still functions — stripping and degreasing the burners, clearing the jets, re-tuning the flame and leak-testing the connection. Repair is what happens once something has actually failed. Servicing is the cheaper of the two, and doing it once a year is what stops most repairs from ever being needed.
Do you do gas stove cleaning at home, or does the stove have to go to a shop?
At home, in your kitchen. The stove is stripped down, cleaned, reassembled, flame-tuned and leak-tested on your platform — there is no reason to carry it anywhere, and nothing is taken away. A standard 2 to 4 burner stove takes about an hour.
What does an annual gas maintenance visit cover?
A full check of the appliance, hose, regulator and accessible pipework, preventive cleaning of burners and jets, flame tuning, and a leak test across the installation. You get told about anything starting to wear before it becomes a breakdown.
I am shifting home. Can you disconnect and reconnect the stove?
Yes. The line is safely isolated and capped at the old flat, and reconnected, leak-tested and flame-checked at the new one. It is worth booking both ends together so the kitchen is usable the day you move in.
Do you service kitchen chimneys and hoods as well?
Yes — filter cleaning or replacement, motor and suction check, and duct inspection. A choked chimney over a gas hob is both a performance and a ventilation problem, so it is worth doing alongside the stove service.
