Mahanagar Gas (PNG) Connection, Conversion & Repair
Piped natural gas runs at a different pressure from LPG cylinders and uses different burner jets, so a stove moved onto a PNG connection without conversion will burn badly and waste gas. As PNG spreads across Mira Road, Bhayandar and the Borivali belt, conversion and line work have become the most common jobs Sunny handles.

Why it is worth fixing rather than replacing
The parts that actually fail on gas appliances — jets, nozzles, ignition electrodes, thermocouples, knob spindles, gaskets, regulators — are inexpensive and individually replaceable. The appliance body, which is the expensive part, almost never fails. That is why replacing a whole stove or hob for an ignition fault is usually the wrong call, and why Sunny will tell you honestly when something genuinely is beyond economical repair rather than selling you work that will not last.
Every visit includes a safety check
Whatever the booked job, the visit finishes with a soap-solution leak test across the joints, valves and hose, plus a flame check on every burner. Gas work that skips this step is not finished work. If something outside the booked job needs attention, you are told about it and given the cost — not charged for it unannounced.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to change my stove for a PNG connection?
Almost never. The stove body stays; only the burner jets need swapping for the PNG size and the air mix re-tuning. Running LPG jets on PNG gives a poor flame and wastes gas, which is why post-connection conversion matters.
Who is responsible for the line — Mahanagar Gas or me?
Broadly, the utility handles the supply up to and including the meter; everything on the appliance side of the meter is the customer’s responsibility. Sunny works on the appliance side — conversion, appliance-side piping, valves and leak testing. For a suspected leak at or before the meter, call the Mahanagar Gas emergency line first.
I can smell gas near the meter. What should I do right now?
Do not switch anything electrical on or off. Open the windows, shut the appliance isolation valve if you can reach it safely, leave the flat and call the Mahanagar Gas emergency helpline. Once the supply side is confirmed safe, Sunny can check and repair the appliance-side installation.
